Új koncertképek a fesztiválokról & Seb interjú
Feltöltöttem a Warwick és a Virgin Festen készült képeket. Jó nézegetést :)

A Pierre & Chuck interjúk után most egy Sebbel készültet olvashattok el.

The last time we saw Simple Plan around, the group was at the top, performing all over the world. Then, the guys came back to Festival dété de Shawinigan with a different intention: relax, and look forward to hit the stage to check out their crowd over here.

"We had a great time off after Christmas," said the guitarist Sebastien Lefebvre on the phone this week. "After that we spent two weeks in Brazil and came back to work on songs for our next album. We're relaxed and in a good shape."

The band is excited with the 07 concerts during the summer, and, 06 of them in Québec. They started in Warwick, at Festival des Fromages, on Thursday. After that performed at Virgin Festival, in Montreal, and, then, in Shawinigan tonight. They also will be at Festival Of Lights of Charlottetown, at Prince-Édouard island, on July 3rd. The band come back to Quebéc to Les Grandes Fętes of Rimouski, on July 18th, to perform at l'Expo Agricole of saint-Félicien, on August 01st and at Osisko Em Lumičre, on August 06th. Lot of concerts for the band this summer. And Shawinigan it's going to be one of the places that will check them out live.

The musicians had only two days for rehearsal and get back on the road. "The last time we played together was in April," said Lefebvre. "We don't need to work on those songs because we already know the tricks. The technician part was made when we recorded the album. Here, there are some places where you need to practise a little, but in the most part we just have to play them at the show. When you spend a while without playing, takes about 30 minutes to find the peace and its become easy."

How's the atmosphere? "The room we were at was full of joy, literally (laughs). I couldn't believe in what I was hearing! It's always special. It's always very fun when we're together to play. Besides that, performing in opened events, is way better because its very relaxing. The crowd is fine and they come to have a great time. It's better when the crowd wanna party. We're there to make that possible. We can't not do this. No doubts, that's what summer it about, have fun."

As we know, the band's reputation is worldwide, but they believe that in Québec, particularly, the people is more receptive. "We did a canadian tour in September and we played twice at Bell Center in Montreal. Also, everyone knows us. They're interested in Simple Plan in Québec now and it's great because we're doing a lot of concerts this summer. The people who love us are still here and it's a great feeling."

The true is that in some places of the world everything gets out of control. "In Brazil they try, literally, take off our clothes and the girls try hard to hold us. It was very intense. Here is not that crazy, but we feel some kind of pride. The crowd is proud of us and the success we have. That's more rewarding."

The group released their third album, self-titled, last year. The number of sells was not that big as the previously one, that have something like 6 million of copies sold out. "The music industry is going through a hard phase, as we all know. The album sells has nothing to do with the popularity of a band in a country. Our number had a fall, just like every band. We still have people who wanna come to see us playing all around the world, including in Canada. The strategy is different now. We always played a lot of concerts and that's not gonna change. In 2008, we spent only 25 days at home! It's more than 300 shows per year since when the latest record came out. If we have to face the stage to reach our fans, that's what we are doing to do. No problems!"

A La Nouvelle Union újságban megjelent egy kis cikk a Warwick koncertről.

Everyone that saw the strong rain this Thursday, had luck when the famous band, Simple Plan, hit the stage of Warwick Fest, during the Festival des Fromages in Warwick.

It is true that the weather didn't help that much, but if there's something the organization can't take the blame, is for the rain.

However, everyone that attented the concert had the chance to check out the group that performed for its first time in Warwick. All the 1.000 available seats had been bought, just like the rest of the crowd, full of fans of the band. But, the venue, with capacity for 20.000 people, wasn't sold out.

Simple Plan performed during this concert their greatest hits and tried something new, out of their soundtrack.

They had played in big cities all over the world, but the guys from Simple Plan will bring their bags to some regions of Québec during the summer, before come back to the studio to work on the 4th album of the band.

In theory, the last worldwide tour of the group was in Brazil, but Simple Plan added two dates for performances in August, in Israel and Russia.

Until then, the five musicians will put away their passports, and drop by areas of Quebec they are not familiar to.

On June 18th the band will be at Festival des Fromages in Warwick. Two days after, they'll perform at Festival d'été de Shawinigan. On July 16th, the guys take the road to perform at Grande Fêtes, before the l'Expo Agricole of St-Félicien, on August 01st and, then, last stop at Rouin-Noranda, on August 06th.

"On the letters we got, our fans are saying we only perform in Montreal and Quebec," said Chuck Comeau, the drummer of the band. "This summer we'll have the chance to visit our fans outside these cities."

"These shows will be funnier, because the people are looking forward to it and they usually don't have huge concerts over there," added.

Born in Québec, called 'Belle Province', Simple Plan say they like this kind of job. "In Québec it's something special. Not like in the US," said Chuck Comeau.

The fans of this area are privileged to check out one of the best performances of the latest tour.

"It's the best of our three albums. We thought about play some new songs, but we're not sure, because then it will be on YouTube very fast," said the drummer.

During the canadian autumn, the five musicians will be back to the studios to record the 4th album.

"We started to write and let's see how it goes. But there are some things we wanna do, as some up-time songs, full of energy."

"On the other record (the third one), we tried a lot of new things. What we wanna do now, is go back to something we've done already, funny, like our first and second albums," he admits.

The new album comes out in the beginning of 2010.

"Since 2000, when we started the band, Simple Plan sold over 7 million of records, almost eight," said Chuck Comeau.

"Between us, we still have a healthy relationship," said him. "We still wanna see each other, hang out together. There are some musicians that keep distance for almost three months after a tour. That's not who we are and we hope it never comes to it."

Even after a worldwide recognition, the guys of Simple Plan will have dreams?

"We just love play in cities we never played before, like in Moscow last summer. Or, for example, we never played at Saturday Night Live, and all the bands have this dream. We're really happy with all we've got, we're very luck. If you give up, you know other band show up and take your place," said Chuck Comeau.

Between Brazil and Russia, the five guys from Québec, Simple Plan, will be attending the Warwick Fest today during the Festival des Fromages, where they promise a memorable concert.

The members of the group Simple Plan had the oportunity to play some shows in Sherbrooke with their old band (Reset), but it's gonna be the first time of the boys in Bois-Francs lands, which is, for the band's vocal Pierre Bouvier, an extra motivation. "I'm not sure of what expect. We're looking forward to see if the people will enjoy what we are doing and if they like to party. It's gonna be very interesting see the crowd's reaction, because we really don't know what to expect," he said.

Simple Plan agreed to join Festival des Fromages, since the date was perfect for the band's schedule, so, it was an honor have them at the event. "We wanna play a lot of shows in Québec to give the chance to the fans from Montreal or Québec City see us playing," said Pierre Bouvier.

This performance will be like a reunion for the five members of the band that will share the stage for the first time after a month. According to the singer, the 20.000 people can expect songs from the three albums, and some surprises.

He's a huge cheese fan, so Pierre Bouvier was excited to hear during the exclusive interview to La Tribune, that his group would be performing in a festival dedicated to the product.

Usually is not recommended for a singer to eat products from milky before hit the stage, but they said this time will be the exception, and they will be visiting and tasting the product during the weekend. "We love cheese, and there's not doubt we'll be tasting it," he said.

Finally, the group from Québec is working on the lyrics for its next album, available probably in the beginning of 2010. According to Bouvier, the next record will be like their other releases including rock and dance songs.

"We have found our own sound and we'll keep working on it on the next album. We found out the ingredients of the success and we'll keep playing music people wanna hear on the radios and have on their iPod," concluded.

After touring all over the world with their latest tour, Simple Plan will be travelling into Québec, in distante places. And, after a serie of events, the group will foccus on their 4th album.

"During this year and a half we've been to all the places. And here, we played in Montreal and Québec, but we haven't time to visit the small cities," said Chuck Comeau, through a phone talk before he goes to Festival des Fromages of Warwick, where the band perform tonight. "It's our way to say thanks the people for their support."

The festivals of Rouyn, Rimouski and Shwinigan will have the chance to check out a different concert of this tour: "We have changed some things just to not look the same. It is the same but with some modifications. All the three albums together."

The five friends will have some time off: after these festivals, they will foccus on their 4th album. The third one had a lot of new things, and Chuck has some details about the next project:

"Our creation, our songs, unlocked a lot of doors. During the creating process you never know how is gonna be. You can keep some theories, but when you're working on it, we don't know which way to go. The world is made for have fun and not to lose your head. We wanna surprise people."

After three records and an internacional carrer, all the wishes of the members of the band seems to be completed. What is left?

"Keep doing it, that people sill like us, that they still wanna check out our performance three or four times more. Also, visit new places in the world. We played for the first time in Moscow last summer. We were happy to see how our music is well accept over there. When you're younger, you have a long wish list," said the musician.

The fact that the band from Québec Bloodshot Bill and Lake of Stew had been forbidden of perform at St-Jean-Baptiste in Rosemont because they sing in english, had a lot of controversy this week. Finally the story had a happy ending, both of the band are schedule for June 23rd.

The controversy echoes has been heard by Simple Plan, that are popular making use of Shakespeare's language even if they were born in Québec.

"That's pathetic. It's like a band choose musically represent Québec in french. It's a delay, but I guess its almost over," said the drummer.

Beside music, Chuck pretends get better in golf, "We practise during the tour. I also wanna work on my carrer as a golf player. I wanna be good on it!"

Simple Plan perform at Parc Jean-Drapeau on June 19th as part of Festival Virgin. To check out all the tour dates, check out the band's official page www.simpleplan.com.
